A friend of mine is a writer, and as such he wants to encourage his 4 year old son to be a creative person. The kid loves watching his dad play WoW, so my friend decided to keep all the sounds off and then the son can invent/create a story for WoW, based on what he’s seeing on the screen.
I’ve talked to the kid a lot, and I’m happy to share his synopsis. I’ve put my own commentary in italics.
The story of WoW is one in which a bunch of Bad Guys blew up the world. (I think the kid’s first experience watching his dad was him playing an alt in Outland) But the good guys have a plan to glue the world back together, which they’ve done in a lot of places (Old world content) but not everywhere (Cata destruction zones). They do this by bonking bad guys on the head with sticks, making them drop special colored glue (I don’t think he gets the concept of money too much, when he sees Gold, he thinks its special Gold Glue) or things that can turn into glue. One of the bad guys is the Licking King. He lives in Northroar, and he’s bad because he kept licking people. He doesn’t like being in Northroar because if he does it in Northroar, he’ll stick to things because it’s cold. (The kid remembers when he was 2 and licked a pole in the winter.)
There’s another place with Pandas. They make green statues that become “Scary Oreo Monsters”. (I don’t think he saw the cinematic.) There’s a ‘blue place’ where there’s a lot of bugs.
